Stock photos provider Shutterstock has used machine-learning to give iPhone users an easier way to find the images they want without trawling through every single picture in the company’s catalogue. iOS users can now simply take a photo and use that instead of keywords to look for images on Shutterstock. Considering the company has around 80 million pictures on file, the new feature will definitely come in handy for mobile users. The Reverse Image Search feature is already available on Shutterstock’s desktop web app and has now been brought over to the mobile app. The technology looks at pixel data within images to recognise what’s inside each and every picture in Shutterstock’s library, including shapes, colours and other small details.
