Western welcomes two internationally acclaimed neuroscientists

Two internationally acclaimed neuroscientists have arrived at Western to continue their research. Tim Bussey and Lisa Saksida are a husband-and-wife duo who are now professors at Western University’s Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. “At Western, we aim to take our research to the next level using new circuit-level techniques to understand the relationship between specific neural networks and cognition and [improve the] translation between preclinical and clinical research,” said Saksida in an email. Previously, the couple specialized in cognition research at the University of Cambridge in England, studying areas like learning, memory, attention and problem-solving.
