Virtua, Penn Medicine announce partnership on cancer, neuroscience

VOORHEES — Two of the region’s health system giants have joined forces, touting that the new alliance between Virtua and Penn Medicine will create an ease of access for patients in South Jersey, while eliminating duplicated services and potentially reducing the cost to deliver care. Evesham-based Virtua and Penn Medicine, with its main campuses in Philadelphia, announced Tuesday that a “strategic alliance” to expand cancer treatment and neuroscience programs and bring those services closer to home for Burlington County residents undergoing treatment.  As part of the deal, Penn neuroscience services, including those for stroke and dementia patients, will be available at Virtua Memorial in Mount Holly beginning in January. “This alliance now provides our patients with easy access to complex and high acuity care at Penn Medicine,” said Rich Miller, president…
