In 2004, the movie “I, Robot,” starring Will Smith and Bridget Moynahan, addressed the intersection of two 21st century technologies: artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced robotics. Based on a collection of nine science fiction short stories of the same name written between 1940 and 1950 by Isaac Asimov, the movie gave us a frightening glimpse into a world ruled by robots run amuck. While the movie was science fiction, it was ahead of its time. It correctly identified two of the five technology trends currently driving innovation, according to an article recently published in Forbes.
