UW adds three new graduate programs to its repertoire

Next year, the University of Washington will add three new graduate programs to its highly acclaimed graduate school. The UW will begin offering a Master’s of Applied Bioengineering, a Certificate in Neural Computation and Engineering, and a Master’s of Science in Data Science. The new programs introduce an interdisciplinary aspect to the Graduate School. The demand for students who are multi-faceted and able to work outside their specialty is growing, making the addition of these programs timely. “Professions in the data science field are among the fastest growing job titles out there,” said Cecilia Aragon, associate professor in the human centered design and engineering (HCDE) department and co-chair of the Interdisciplinary Data Science Group offering the Master’s in Data Science.
