UVa Datapalooza Looks at Analyzing Large Sets of Data in Many Fields

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (NEWSPLEX) — The University of Virginia will be hosting Datapalooza on Friday to showcase initiatives, research, resources, services and outreach the university has around the compilation and analysis of large data sets. The event, organized by the Data Science Institute, will feature speakers, panels, presentations and an open resource fair on the “big data” revolution. “We are excited to highlight the wide range of collaborative data science activities by faculty, students and other researchers across Grounds, and to facilitate opportunities for more networking and collaboration, said Dan Brown, the director of the Data Science Institute and professor of systems and information engineering. “We also want to introduce people working at the frontiers of data science to the university at large.
