US working on ‘first of a kind’ brain-inspired supercomputing platform for deep learning

Generally speaking in terms of computing abilities, human brain is considered the most powerful supercomputer the world. Now, a group of computer scientists has taken inspiration from the organ to create a new, neural network-based supercomputing platform. California’s federal government research facility the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), which work to ensure the safety, security, and reliability of the United States nuclear deterrent, and is now working along with IBM on the ‘first of a kind’ brain-inspired supercomputing platform for in-depth learning.
