It’s the most common cause of dementia, and we still have no cure.  In this video by Neuroscientifically Challenged, they explain the neuroscience behind Alzheimer’s, a progressive, neurodegenerative disease that causes memory loss, along with the degenerative loss of other mental functions as time proceeds.   Understanding the neurobiology behind a disease like Alzheimer’s might help us find a cure for it sooner. In recent news, researchers from Flinders University in Australia announced progress in the development of a vaccine candidate that might one day be able to reverse the onset of Alzheimer’s.  According to the researchers, the potential vaccine could be ready for human trials in just 3 years.
