UMass Amherst Receives Million for Data Science, Cybersecurity

June 15, 2016 The University of Massachusetts Amherst has announced a ten-year, $15 million grant from the MassMutual Foundation to strengthen its data science and cybersecurity research and education programs. The grant includes $12 million in support of the university’s Center for Data Science, funds that will be used to hire faculty and help the center achieve its goals of doubling the number of data science courses and tripling enrollment in its master’s program in computer science.
