Toyota to invest million in collaboration to research on autonomous driving technology

At a recently held press conference in Palo Alto, Toyota has said it will take first steps to develop artificial intelligence capabilities for robotic cars. It will invest $50 million over the next five years to have joint research centers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University Researchers from both the institutions will work to develop artificial intelligence systems and will also try find out ways by which the systems can be fitted into future self driving cars. Dr. Gill Pratt, head of the research project, was of the view that with the combined research, they will focus on improving the vehicle’s ability to recognize objects in different environments.
