Toyota Makes Billion Investment in U.S. for Artificial Intelligence

Toyota announced an investment of $1 billion in a research business it will set up to develop robotics and artificial intelligence, underlining the automaker’s determination in leading in cars of the future that are self-driving and to apply technology to other daily life activities. Akio Toyoda the President of Toyota Motor said on Friday that Toyota would start in January its operation with 200 workers close to Stanford University. Another facility will also be established in Cambridge, Massachusetts close to MIT. The investment is to be spread over a period of five years and comes over and above the $50 million announced by Toyota earlier for research in artificial intelligence at MIT and Stanford.
