This Startup’s Personal Storage Device Uses Artificial Intelligence to Help You Organize Photos

(via Monument) If the 2014 celebrity photo hack has you anxious about storing your files in the cloud–or if you’d just rather not pay a monthly fee for cloud services–a Chicago startup has a solution that uses artificial intelligence and a personal storage device to automatically collect and organize all of your images and videos. Monument, a Turkish-born startup that’s now based in 1871, just launched a Kickstarter campaign for its smart photo storage and management device that uses AI similar to Google Photos to organize pictures based on facial recognition and what’s happening in the image. Monument can detect the faces in your photos and automatically group your pictures according to who is in them, and it lets you search keywords like “beach” or “snow” to quickly find the picture…
