Facebook and Google have poured money into getting artificial intelligence-powered messaging apps out the door, but the companies didn’t get one prize they wanted. Each expressed interest in acquiring the AI startup Viv Labs, founded by the developers of Apple’s Siri, people familiar with the discussions said.
