The world has been taken over by artificial intelligence. In desperation, the UN created Talis, an artificial intelligence, and he is tired of humanity’s constant bickering. The Earth is now his, and it is time to play by his rules.  Talis is in charge of “conflict abatement” to help fix all the issues humans created: war, climate change, environmental catastrophe and to save humans from themselves. In Erin Bow’s “The Scorpion Rules,” the world is split into territories and kingdoms.
