Tesla’s Elon Musk named co-chair for non-profit firm researching artificial

The venture’s research director is Ilya Sutskever, a former research scientist at Google, and its chief technology officer is Greg Brockman, formerly CTO of payments startup Stripe. Some are more bombastic in their predictions, like the famous Ray Kurzweil who believes in 15 years’ time computers will be more intelligent than we are and will be able to understand what we say, learn from experience, make jokes, tell stories and even flirt. Where AI is concerned, Musk has proven himself to not just encourage serious thinking about the subject, but to also help fund research as well.
