Symantec looks to up the ante on SMB security with Endpoint Protection Cloud

Image: Symantec A new security product from Symantec, announced Tuesday, could bolster SMBs’ defenses against targeted cyberattacks and ransomware. The Symantec Endpoint Protection Cloud uses machine learning and intelligent protection to help block attacks. According to a Symantec Internet Security Threat Report, cited in a press release, 65% of all targeted attacks that happened in 2015 were perpetrated against SMBs. The company said that the Symantec Endpoint Protection Cloud is meant for businesses with fewer than 1,000 employees, and can be configured and deployed in less than five minutes. Additionally, it can be “operated by someone with general IT knowledge,” the press release said.
