Splunk unveils IT Service Intelligence analytics technology

US big data firm Splunk has unveiled a spate of new products and updates to its software portfolio at its annual .conf user event in San Francisco, including Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI), a reworking of its machine learning and operational analytics technology. Aimed at providing data-powered insights into IT services activity, the purpose of ITSI is to provide a centralised “single pane of glass” view of activity across a company’s IT services rather than just its systems, in order to identify areas where there are anomalies in the delivery of a service and identify way to improve it. ITSI can use its analytics core to map critical services against key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the data it harvests and analyses is pertinent to critical areas of a business’s IT services.…
