“Shazam” for machines, Augury, snags M Series A
New York-area startups and venture capitalists are making funding deals with the hopes of creating the next profitable company. Here’s one deal announced today:
Who gets: New York-based Augury Inc., founded in 2011, uses technology to figure out how to troubleshoot problems in large machines, such as a pump or HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) system, by listening to the sounds they emit. If the machine needs, say, more oil or a bearing replacement, that info is sent to a smartphone app.
Amount raised: $7 million in a Series A. The funding comes less than a year after Augury raised $2 million in a seed funding round in October. In all, the company has raised $9 million.Source: “Shazam” for machines, Augury, snags M Series A
