Researchers develop Geos – a system capable of Interpreting Diagrams and Geometry Shapes

A new artificial intelligence system, GeoS, capable of answering geometry questions has been developed by researchers from the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence. GeoS has correctly answered 49% of SAT geometry questions, which is equal to the result of an average human test-taker. Though, many latest artificial intelligence advances have already been developed that are capable of detecting patterns like voice and facial recognition, GeoS has been designed specifically to sense data it is fed. It analyzes the diagrams and text it visualizes and then applies it knowledge to solve geometry questions. As per statement from researchers of the Allen Institute, GeoS has roughly achieved a score of 500 (out of 800) in SAT test, which is an average score for high school student in 2015.
