Research Assistant I – Department of Neuroscience

Job Summary: Performs responsible research work of a complex nature that requires planning, completing, and occasionally supervising limited research projects in accordance with general plans approved by the supervisor. Essential Functions and Duties:  Trains and orients new employees and research staff, as needed. Regularly inspects facility to assure the highest quality of animal care and required sanitation standards. Monitors to assure compliance with all animal care and facility maintenance procedures, standards, and guidelines. Interacts and coordinates with veterinary services staff to assure health and welfare of animals. Views, analyzes, and interprets health monitoring results and determines necessary course of action.
