Qualcomm deep learning SDK adds AI smarts to Snapdragon chips

MOBILE CHIP CRAFTER Qualcomm aims to add more artificial intelligence (AI) smarts to smartphones by releasing a deep learning software development kit (SDK) for mobiles with its Snapdragon 820 processors. The fancy-sounding Zeroth Neural Processing Engine is the name given to the SDK and it is powered by the company’s Machine Intelligence Platform. The aim of the kit it to make it easier for developers and companies to run deep learning programmes on devices that use small processors, such as mobiles, tablets, and even drones.
