Postdoctoral fellow in Neuroscience

A Postdoctoral Researcher position is available immediately in the Department of Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine for a self-motivated scientist to study the molecular mechanisms of human neurodegenerative diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and polyglutamine expansion diseases. The candidate will be expected to work with mammalian neuronal culture and drosophila models of ALS and other related human neurodegenerative diseases (for more details see our recent publications: Pandey et al., 2007 Nature; Lanson et al., 2011 HMG; Daigle et al., 2013 HMG; Wen et al., 2015 Neuron; Daigle et al., 2016 Acta Neuropathologica). Previous experience with mammalian cell culture and Drosophila is preferred, but not essential. Applicants should have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
