Two active research areas are ongoing in the lab. One aspect is the transmitter, synaptic and hormonal interactions in prefrontal cortex that underlie cognitive deficits in schizophrenia and pharmacological strategies to normalize the disruption.  The other aspect is the developmental expression and pharmacology of anti-oxidant pathways and their association with dopamine neuron dysfunction and age-dependent disorders. Ideal Requirements: a. Ph.D. in neuroscience, neuropharmacology, neurobiology or related science b. Expertise in performing molecular techniques, including qRT-PCR and Western blot, in addition to familiarity with neurochemical methods such as HPLC and immunohistochemistry c. A good knowledge of the neurobiology of relevant CNS disorders, such as schizophrenia and Parkinson’s disease d.
