Post-doctoral Fellow (Postdoc) position at Baylor College of Medicine
A postdoctoral position is available immediately at Baylor College of Medicine to investigate the neural control of feeding behavior and etiological mechanisms of obesity and eating disorders in genetic mouse models.
This newly established laboratory is fully funded and well equipped, which permits utilization of cutting-edge technologies including, inducible/conditional mouse models, viral-based circuit mapping and gene targeting, optogenetics and chemogenetics, in vivo and ex vivo electrophysiology, in vivo calcium imaging, functional profiling of novel drug targets, cognitive and metabolic behavioral equipment, including CLAMS, Bio-Daq Feeding System, and Home-cage Locomotion Analysis System. In addition, Baylor College of Medicine has outstanding core research facilities (microscopy & imaging, genomic, proteomic and transgenic) for the rapid advancement of research work.
According to the new policy of Baylor College of Medicine, applicants with their doctoral degree obtained in non-English speaking countries and had no post-doctoral experience in the US/Canada/UK/Australia institutes must demonstrate their English language fluency by obtaining a score no less than 100 in TOEFL or 6.0 in IELTS within the past two years.
The ideal candidate will be a recent PhD and/or MD with a strong background in genetics and mammalian physiology. Ones who have direct hands-on experience in molecular cloning techniques would be preferred.
