PhD student position in Neuroscience SFB

PhD student position available within the Collaborative Research Center CRC1080: Molecular and Cellular Mechanisms of Neural Homeostasis (Project A03), at the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology, Goethe-University of Frankfurt, starting January 2017The project has the aim to characterize the role of progranulin and EGFL7 for adult neurogenesis and its consequences in terms of cognition, aging and stress-evoked behaviour. The underlying molecular mechanisms shall be addressed with a broad range of experimental neuroscience techniques such as analysis of animal behaviour, cell and molecular biology, primary neuronal culture, calcium-imaging and microscopy. In particular, the project requires reprogramming of iPSC, so that experience with stem cells and cloning techniques is a strong advantage. We expect a high scientific interest in neurobiology, neurogenesis and aging. The successful candidate should be highly motivated and interested in a…
