Ph.D. of Neuroscience and Experimental Therapeutics

Ph.D. Degree Students in the Ph.D. program are required to take a minimum of 26 credits of course work, 2 laboratory rotations, and 60 credits of thesis research in order to complete the degree requirements. Students in the program are also expected to attend our journal club and all DNET-sponsored seminars including the Distinguished Scientist Lecture Series. Course work is completed by the end of the second year of the program. At the end of the Spring semester, all second year students must take a written exam. The purpose of this exam is to evaluate student progress in comprehension of the scientific basis of neuroscience, pharmacology and therapeutics, as well as the student’s ability to use that knowledge to address research problems.
