Nvidia launches Jetson TX1 module to power artificial intelligence

Nvidia has unveiled their latest Jetson board which they stated can keep up with Intel’s Skylake Core i7. The Jetson TX1 supports 4K video encode and decode, up to six cameras and can connect to an array of fast/modern interfaces including HDMI, DP 1.2, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 2×2 ac Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. The card also has 4GB of RAM shared between the CPU and GPU, along with 16GB of eMMC storage. The prototype, which is based on the Kesprey Drone System already being sold to the materials, mining, and construction industries, uses the NVIDIA Jetson TX1 module, which ups the device’s intelligence by giving it the ability to run complex algorithms. “They will navigate on their own, recognise objects and faces, and become increasingly intelligent through machine learning”.
