Nvidia & AliCloud Sign Deal for First GPU-based Cloud HPC Platform in China

AliBaba Group, the world’s largest e-commerce giant is spreading its wings to other regions now. The company’s cloud computing division, AliCloud, has signed a strategic partnership deal with Nvidia with an aim to propel their High-Performance Computing (HPC) program further. It has been announced that the two companies will be working together primarily with one aim and that is to create the first GPU-based cloud HPC platform in China. Not only that, it was announced when the deal was signed at Nvidia’s Computing Conference – 2016 Shanghai Summit that they will also “provide emerging companies support in areas of HPC and deep learning with comprehensive GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) computing.” The global vice president of the American technology company, Shankar Trivedi says that they will be offering GPU accelerated computing…
