NIJ Crime Forecasting Challenge – help improve policing and public safety with data science!

The nation needs brilliant, creative minds to lead the next generation of crime forecasting. Through a free and open competition, the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) is challenging scientists across all fields to drive innovation in place-based crime forecasting. NIJ will provide contestants with real-time datasets from one police jurisdiction. Using this data, contestants will develop place-based crime forecasts for that jurisdiction, which will be judged on effectiveness and efficiency. NIJ hopes this competition will inspire innovators like you to think about how algorithms can be adapted to solve criminal justice problems.
