Microsoft launches an artificially intelligent profile on Twitter – it doesn’t go according to plan

The internet is a harsh and unforgiving place. For a wide-eyed and innocent artificially intelligent (AI) being taking its first digital steps, it’s all too easy to be led astray. This week, Microsoft created an AI Twitter account called “Tay”. Tay is described as “Microsoft’s A.I. fam from the internet that’s got zero chill! The more you talk the smarter Tay gets” Microsoft left the “chatbot” to fend for itself among Twitter’s 350-million strong collection of active users.
