MassMutual Foundation, UMass Amherst to enrich data science, cyber security programs

MassMutual Foundation, Inc. has provided USD15 million to the University of Massachusetts Amherst to further strengthen its data science and cyber security research and education programs in Western Massachusetts, the company said. The company said the grant will be administered over a 10-year period. The grant, a signature contribution of the MassMutual Foundation was outlined by Nick Fyntrilakis, MassMutual´s vice president of community responsibility and president of the MassMutual Foundation, at a briefing at the UMass Center at Springfield, located in Tower Square, which will house the new cyber security initiative.
