Machine learning expert leaves Millennium Capital for quant university

Hammad Khan, a managing director and quant portfolio manager at Millennium, departed earlier this month, according to regulatory filings. He’s now a faculty member at World Quant University, the education arm of the hedge fund with the same name, where he teaches machine learning and ‘alpha’ design. WorldQuant University has a number of senior hedge fund professionals teaching there including Anca Dimitriu, who also previously worked at Millennium in a business development role. Khan joined Millennium in January 2013, from high frequency trading firm Sun Trading, where he was a quant trader.
