Library To Host “ANNI” With Artificial Intelligence Test on Wednesday

NEBRASKA CITY – The Morton-James Public Library is hosting an artificial intelligence demonstration at the Kimmel Gallery from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3. The demonstration features ANNI, the Archival Narrative Network Initiative. Scientists created ANNI to explore human and computer interactions in the information age. The interaction may begin with ANNI asking for people for input. The opening interaction will sound like this. http://media3.floodradio.com/columbus/2016/08/ANNI-tell-me.mp3 ANNI collects audio and mixes them into a live multi-media dance performance, as well as a mini-documentary about the moment the responses are installed. Visitors will have opportunity for a five to seven-minute session to see if they can pass the Turing Test, which determines if a machine can demonstrate intelligent behavior that is indistinguishable from a human being.
