Jenny Thompson of Forward3D comes to the defense of ‘The Data’

I am writing this piece in response to an article I recently read on The Drum by Paul Kitcatt, “Don’t wait for the data- it will only mislead you.” I spoke at a conference recently and listened to an excellent talk from a CMO about the challenge of wading through the endless emails and phone calls from the many data-focused ad tech and infrastructure suppliers out there, all promising ‘better data’ as a panacea for his company’s ills. The kicker was that even after reading the emails, meeting suppliers at conferences and speaking to them on the phone, he was still unclear as to the benefit many of them could provide.
