Iran to hold intl. festival on artificial intel., robotics

“Fifth international competition of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (AUTcup 2015), third international competition of Artificial Intelligence (AAIC2015), as well as the first open Firacup 2015 will be held by AmirKabir University of Technology” said Dr Mohammad Reza Razfar, the president of the festival. 

He added that the competition will be held in 15 robotics sections and 10 artificial intelligence sections organized for students of schools along with the students of universities from which 4 leagues have been allocated to students of schools, 6 leagues of AUTcup and 5 leagues of FIRACup to the students of universities.

The Iranian Open FIRACup will be held in cooperation with Federation of International Robot-Soccer Association (FIRA), the official said, pointing that it is the first of its kind to be held in Amirkabir University.

According to Razfar, this festival is one of the most complete competitions to be held in Iran which includes all fields of robotics, automation and artificial intelligence.

The president of the festival also pointed out that The International Committee of Students Robotics Olympiad is cooperating with the festival.

“Strengthening the spirit of science and technology among the general public as well as the young generation, developing the smart independent robots and bringing the researchers and students specializing in robotics, automation and artificial intelligence together are of those important achievements of such an event” he mentioned stressing that the aim of this festival is to apply these kind of robots in industry and society. Therefore, the festival will be held under the moto of “Robots in the Service of Industry”. 

Razfar announced that the competitions will be held on November 14-28th in Amirkabir University of Technology adding that the preregistration will start on August 15th and remain open till September 7th.
