Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence Drive 2017 Tech Trends, Janus’ Fish Says

The biggest trends to watch for in tech this year are the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence and machine learning, Janus Capital portfolio manager Denny Fish told CNBC’s “Squawk Alley” Wednesday morning. He expects advancements in these areas to gain momentum in 2017 and 2018. Furthermore, he reiterated the importance of focusing on companies making strides in the cloud computing business. “We are looking at companies that both directly and indirectly benefit from those trends we have seen with cloud computing over the last three, four years, and the next iteration of that,” Fish noted. Clearly, Fish continued, the larger platforms like Alphabet (GOOGL) , Amazon (AMZN) and Microsoft (MSFT) stand to benefit as they have each invested significantly in their cloud computing architecture.
