HP’s new enterprise security tools detects malware phoning home, software bugs

HP unveiled on Wednesday new enterprise security tools that can detect communications between malware and a remote server as well as uncover bugs in enterprise software using machine learning.   One of the products, called HP DNS Malware Analytics, uses an algorithm to detect enterprise machines infected with malware by analyzing Domain Name System traffic between the devices and remote servers. “This solves the problem of finding an infected host that has been missed by anti-virus and endpoint security,” explained Frank Mong, vice president of solutions at HP Security. “We developed an appliance that records all of the DNS requests and responses.
