HPE launches servers for deep learning, financial services

Hewlett Packard Enterprise said Monday that it has rolled out a series of servers designed for big data and high performance computing as well as workstations for the financial services industry. On the deep learning front, HPE is launching the Apollo 6500 server, which runs on Nvidia Tesla and AMD FirePro GPUs for high-performance computing. HPE also outlined the Apollo 4520, which offers tiered storage, is designed for petabyte scale data sets, runs Intel’s Enterprise Edition of Lustre as well as Xeon E5-26004v4 processors and has data compression and parallel capacity. For financial services, HPE is adding industry-specific tools as it aims to broaden its strength in verticals.
