HPE courts developers with cloud-powered machine learning tech

HEWLETT PACKARD ENTERPRISE (HPE) is cosying up to developers with the general release of Haven OnDemand, a set of cloud-powered machine learning tools designed to make apps smarter.  The company, which has emerged like a butterfly from the tech lump that was HP, is offering over 60 APIs that enable developers of mobile and web apps to add a dose of machine learning to their software. The APIs offer analytical smarts such as image and speech recognition, text analysis and clever predictions and recommendations gleaned from data crunching. All of which means that developers not versed in the head-exploding world of data science can still get a shot of machine learning.
