Can we make a robot laugh using Cognitive computing? More importantly, if we can make a robot laugh, can the robot make original jokes as well?

This article takes a look at how our humor response mechanisms control what we find funny.

Cognitive tools like pattern recognition and emotional response make us laugh. So if we can analyze and understand how this works, then we should be able to replicate it. Once this is automated, agents will be capable of not just predicting what we will buy next or the next word in our sentence for auto complete, but may entertain us as well.
