How far can Artificial Intelligence go?

One of my colleagues came in today and asked, “Are you fine?” When I replied in the affirmative, he said that he asked the question because I looked angry. Actually, I was not–I was busy checking out a variety of sites, so I was serious, not angry. As people, we get other people wrong. Often I have fumbled trying to understand the feelings of other people, and I’m sure that you have faced this too, even if you are a CIO or a senior official who deals with a lot of people. And this begs the question–if people can’t understand other people, how can AI do this?
