Guy who first hacked the iPhone just built a self-driving car in his garage

The 26-year-old hacking icon (who was the first person to hack an iPhone), along with his techie roommates, has built an effective and functioning self-driving car in about a month. According to Bloomberg News, two developments make Hotz’s system achievable. The first is the current quality of off-the-shelf computing power. Hotz uses graphics chips that typically power video game consoles to process data from the car’s camera system and Intel chips to run calculations for his artificial intelligence software.
