Google’s DeepMind unit develops artificial intelligence called WaveNet

In an announcement made via a blog post released on Friday, Google’s DeepMind subsidiary has revealed that it has created an artificial intelligence (AI) called WaveNet, which has the capability to mimic any human voice while sounding more natural as compared to the existing text-to-speech algorithms. Revealing that its WaveNet AI is a system for machine-generated speech, DeepMind – a UK-based company which was acquired by Google in 2014 in an approximately 400 million pounds ($533 million) deal – said that the WaveNet AI underscores a completely new model for teaching computers the conversion of text to speech.
