Google’s Deepmind Artificial Intelligence Beats Go World Champion In First Match (video)

The first match in the face off between Google’s Deepmind artificial intelligence AlphaGo, and the Go World Champion 33-year Lee Sedol has ended seeing defeat for the human with artificial intelligence winning its first match out of five. It’s not the first time that Deepmind has beaten a Go Champion but it is the first time that the artificial intelligence system has beaten a World Champion Go player. Up for grabs is a $1 million prize which AlphaGo will donate to charity if it wins. The tournament is taking place from March 8-15th although the world champion is already predicting that the competition will be a 5-0 whitewash to AlphaGo, but let’s hope that Sedol can find a way to win at least one match against the powerful computer system.…
