Google reportedly working on AI boosted messaging service

Google is planning a new messaging app and a host of artificial intelligence-powered services that will be accessible through it, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. Google declined Reuter’s request to comment on the WSJ report. Google’s offerings also lag the Tencent Holdings (OTCPK:TCEHY)-owned WeChat service, the most popular messaging app in China with 600 million monthly active users as of August. Google is using its artificial intelligence savvy and something it calls “chatbot technology” to make up for lost time in this vital market, according to the Wall Street Journal.
