Google and NASA now have a shiny new Quantum Computer for AI research

With a much smarter computer now powering the show, it looks like Skynet will be upon us sooner than anticipated. A company called D-Wave, involved in the design of high-performance Quantum computing systems, has recently delivered a brand new version of their supercomputer to the likes of NASA and Google. Unlike regular digital supercomputers, this one uses heuristic problem solving methodologies (where the system is able to learn based on past experience,) making it especially adept to the field of artificial intelligence. And this is precisely what it will be tasked with: for research at the Quantum Artificial Intelligence Lab at the NASA Ames Research Center in California.
