Gambling charity faces inquiry into its industry links

Britain’s leading charity to minimise gambling addiction faces an investigation by the Charity Commission over its closeness to the gambling industry. The Responsible Gambling Trust, which is funded by bookmakers, is accused of taking a sympathetic approach to the industry and commissioning a company with a commercial interest in gambling to conduct research into betting machines. Campaigners are preparing a dossier of evidence to present to the commission, which will review the findings before deciding whether to investigate.
