Faculty Position in Neuroscience
A faculty position is available at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level at the JFK Neuroscience Institute in Edison, New Jersey. While candidates with varied neuroscience research interests are welcome to apply, preference will be given to applicants studying cancers of the brain, stroke, and programmed cell death and/or neuroinflammatory processes related to neurological disorders.
Current basic research strengths at the Institute include human systems physiology, gene regulation and non-coding RNAs in stroke, biomaterials approaches to enhance CNS repair, and neuroinflammation and glial biology in health and disease. The clinical facilities of the Institute, including adult and pediatric neurology, neurosurgery and neuropsychology, are located immediately adjacent to the research division. Current clinical strengths include neurological and neurosurgical approaches to brain tumors, stroke, sleep disorders, Parkinson’s disease, neuro-ophthalmology and neuro-otology. The Institute fosters and encourages collegial interactions between bench and clinical practitioners, affording scientists the opportunity to conduct translational research projects, including studies utilizing primary cells procured from patients with neurologic disease. Applicants with research programs that include such translational approaches are particularly encouraged to apply.
