Factories in space: Amazon founder Jeff Bezos unveils vision for the future

Humans must protect the planet by building huge factories in space, Jeff Bezos said, in a wide-ranging interview that ranged from the impact of artificial intelligence to Donald Trump.  The Amazon billionaire, who founded private space travel company Blue Origin in 2000, said it would be “cool” to go to Mars, but the future of Earth depended on exploiting the unlimited solar energy in space for heavy industry.  “Let me assure you, this is the best planet,” he said in a rare interview at the Code conference in Southern California.  “We need to protect it, and the way we will is by going out into space. Energy is limited here.
