Facebook’s DeepText is an AI that could drive the new bot generation

Facebook today announced that it’s developing a new machine-learning bot engine called DeepText, that can understanding natural language text with near perfect accuracy. The AI can reportedly understand the language in several thousand Facebook posts a second, across over 20 languages. In a post on their developer forum, Facebook explained the engine is being developed to fully understand context in posts, regardless of how it’s framed. So far, text understanding is capable of recognising the topic of a post, a particular sport for example, or the names of celebrities and known personalities, and even match score cards. But what Facebook wants to do is build an AI with neural networks that can learn new words and slang on its own, to get a sense of what the world is talking…
